Glide through water
Endless lakes, calm rivers, rushing rapids… Finland has a variety of paddling pleasure. Very close to our home there are several exiting possibilities to experience the element water.
Viekijoki is fun also for the whole family which likes refreshing moments. Fun, excitement and always close.
Jongunjoki is a famous canoe river and presents pure paddling pleasure. Enjoy a week water, nature and cosy resting places. The river offers everything what an experienced canoe rider adores.
Also Pielinen lake, one of Finland’s biggest lakes is close and has nice and interesting places to discover.
Viekijoki
Directly in front of our home, the Viekijoki meanders through the forest. A calm, bended river which makes your paddling day to an adventure. Its bank is mostly steep and wild, but there are still plenty of little sandy beaches which invite you to a rest. This tour takes about 3 to 4 hours. Inclusive of life jacket, picnic, guide and transfer.

Jongunjoki
In between the lake Jonkeri near Kuhmo and the Pielinen near Lieksa there is a 80 km long water conection, which starts with the river Jongunjoki and from lake Nurmijärvi it continues as Lieksanjoki.
The 68 km long Jongunjoki has quite rough current at the beginning and is full of foaming rapids. After 30 km near Aittokoski the rivers calms down and you can enjoy the paddling through wild and beautiful countryside.
On your way there are good possibilities to rest for lunch at the campfire or even stay for over night. Either at a wooden shelter or a simple wilderness cabin.
